Permissions

Glean Chats can be configured to be viewable by your entire organization, or by specific users/departments. All users who receive a shared GleanChat will see the same message/text history, and the same citations (if they have permissions for the cited document) Any linked or cited documents will follow their existing access permissions; GleanChat sharing does not and will not automatically share permissions for any related documents.

Managing your Beta rollout

As part of the the private beta, you can disable or enable Chat Sharing for your organization. If chat sharing is disabled, any chats that were shared previously will no longer be accessible and links will return “chat not found” errors.

Retention

Glean Chats are only retained for 30 days. As a result, shared chats will also only be available for 30 days after their initial creation.

Citations

Users who do not have view permissions for a document will not see that document listed in the sources or citations.
