FlexCredits dashboard
The FlexCredits dashboard gives you visibility into how your organization consumes FlexCredits over time. You can review overall usage trends, break down consumption by feature and surface, and export data for your own reports.
Access the FlexCredits dashboard
You must have one of the following roles:
- Super Admin
- Admin
- Billing Moderator (if enabled in your deployment)
To open the FlexCredits dashboard, navigate to Admin console → FlexCredits.
If you don't see the FlexCredits dashboard, contact a Super Admin to confirm your role and permissions.
Usage overview
The Usage overview section displays how many FlexCredits you have available and your usage:
- Credits used: The number and percentage of FlexCredits used out of the total available credits.
- Total used in contract period: The number of FlexCredits consumed during the total contract period.
- Usage by product type: A segmented progress bar that shows usage by the Assistant, Agents, and API product types. Each segment represents how many FlexCredits that product type has consumed out of its contracted amount.
Use these metrics to check whether your usage is on track with your contract.
If you exceed your contracted amount of FlexCredits, the dashboard continues to highlight the overage for that product type so you can follow up with your account team or adjust consumption.
Manage budget and alerts
The FlexCredits dashboard helps you manage your usage without disrupting work. Select Manage budget and alerts to open the alerting tool.
Set usage alerts: Banner and email
You can set Alert thresholds to notify about usage. When your usage meets the selected alert thresholds:
- The dashboard displays a usage notice banner.
- Glean sends an email about the usage level to Super Admins, Admins, and Billing Moderators.
To add additional recipients to the alert email list, toggle Add additional recipients and enter the email addresses of the recipients.
By default, the alert threshold is set to 75%, 90%, and 100% of the contracted FlexCredits.
Set a monthly budget alert: Email
You can set a soft monthly budget to pace your organization's usage and get notified as your usage approaches the budget. This budget is a reference point for the alert, not a hard limit. Glean recommends setting a budget equal to the following:
Monthly budget = Your remaining credits / Remaining months in your credit period
To set a monthly budget, turn on the Monthly budget and alerts toggle. Configure the following:
- Budget type: Choose Recurring to apply the budget to the current and future months. Or, choose One-time to apply the budget to only the current month.
- Monthly credit budget: Enter the number of FlexCredits you want to budget for the selected period.
- Alert threshold: Choose the percentage of the budget at which to trigger an alert.
Glean sends alert emails to Super Admins, Admins, and Billing Moderator when usage meets the selected alert thresholds.
To add additional recipients to the alert email list, toggle Add additional recipients and enter the email addresses of the recipients.
Usage breakdown
The FlexCredits dashboard displays granular, feature-level credit consumption so you can see which capabilities drive the most usage.
The Usage breakdown section organizes usage into tabs:
- Assistant
- Agents
- API
Filter by credit period
The credit period is the time period for the total available credits. Credits expire after this time period.
You can filter the FlexCredits dashboard to focus on a credit period:
- Next to the title of the Usage breakdown panel, select the credit period picker.
- Choose the monthly range you want to review.
The charts and tables update to reflect your credit period selection.
Assistant tab
Use the Assistant tab to understand how Glean Assistant is consuming FlexCredits. You can identify which features drive the most FlexCredits usage, compare adoption and spend across different AI capabilities, and spot unexpected spikes in a particular feature area.
Within the Assistant tab, you can view by:
- Models: Shows consumption by large language model, depending on your configuration.
- Tools: Shows consumption for Assistant tools, such as connectors or built-in utilities that the Assistant invokes on behalf of users.
- Other features: Shows per-feature credit spend for Assistant features as distinct line items. For example:
- Code Writer
- Image Generation
- Other Assistant-powered features that bill against FlexCredits
Agents tab
Use the Agents tab to understand how Glean Agents and related workflows consume FlexCredits.
Within the Agents tab, you can view by:
- Agent: Lists each agent and the FlexCredits it consumed in the selected period.
- Feature: Groups usage by feature and shows which agents are driving spend within that feature group.
The Agent view may have the following rows:
- Deleted agents: Aggregates credits consumed by agents that no longer exist. This ensures credit usage from previously deleted agents remains visible instead of disappearing from the dashboard.
- Unsaved workflows: Aggregates credits from draft or unsaved agents and workflows that were used but never saved as named agents.
- System workflows: Static or system-provided workflows, such as Deep Research or Chat, appear as individual line items rather than rolled up into a single system bucket.
These rows make sure all FlexCredits consumption is visible, even if the underlying agents or workflows no longer exist.
In the Other features view, these rows appear within the appropriate feature group, so you can see how much of a feature’s spend comes from deleted, unsaved, or system workflows.
API tab
Use the API tab to understand FlexCredits consumed through API-based usage, such as programmatic search or other APIs that bill against FlexCredits.
Depending on your configuration, the API tab can show:
- Credits consumed by specific APIs or namespaces, such as Search.
- How much API-driven usage contributes to your overall FlexCredits consumption compared to Assistant and Agents.
Export FlexCredit usage data
To share usage details, you can export the underlying data from the Usage breakdown panel. You might use exports to compare invoices against actual usage, forecast future FlexCredits needs, or combine Glean usage with your internal metrics.
To export usage data:
- Navigate to the Usage breakdown panel.
- Select the download icon.
The file downloads as a .csv file. You can open and view the file in your preferred analysis tool.
Common questions
Why do I see new feature categories?
As Glean adds new AI capabilities and feature-level pricing, new categories may appear in the FlexCredits dashboard. This ensures you can track the specific impact of new features on your FlexCredits usage.
Older usage remains in your historical exports, but newer usage appears under the more granular, updated categories.
Why doesn’t the feature-level total match my contract total?
The FlexCredits dashboard focuses on usage. Your contract may include additional terms, such as:
- Minimum commitments
- Overage pricing
- FlexCredits allocated to specific add-ons or bundles
