Release version: 568
This release adds comments on artifacts, sidebar pinning for Library items, new MCP server templates, and an AI transparency notice in Glean Assistant. It also makes service credentials for agents generally available and ships reliability fixes across chat, search, and connectors.
Major launches
Comment directly on artifacts
You can now leave comments anchored to specific parts of HTML, image, spreadsheet, and document artifacts — then reply, react, mention teammates, and resolve threads. You can also send comments to Glean as follow-up instructions. Anyone who can view an artifact can comment; editing still requires edit access.
How to access: Open a shared artifact and choose Comment.
Pin Library items to your sidebar
You can now pin artifacts, go links, answers, announcements, and other Library items to the Pinned section of the left sidebar for instant access — just like chats and projects. The Library also adds a Pinned filter on every tab so you can quickly view only your pinned items.
How to access: Pin or unpin from the Library card menu, the item viewer, or the sidebar.
Glean Assistant shows an AI transparency notice
Glean Assistant now shows a notice below the chat composer — "Glean is AI and can make mistakes. Please double-check responses." — so users can clearly tell they're interacting with AI, in line with EU AI Act transparency requirements. The notice links to guidance on answer quality, and it uses your organization's white-labeled name in place of "Glean" if one is set.
How to access: No action needed. The notice appears for all users.
Agent ownership drives moderation and notifications
Moderation, notifications, and related library views now attribute each agent to its current owner instead of its original creator, so responsibilities follow the agent when ownership changes.
How to access: No action needed. The change applies automatically.
New MCP server templates: SnapLogic, Helious, Winningtemp, and Law Insider
The MCP server directory adds four templates. Connect SnapLogic's production US or European control plane with user OAuth, Helious for account-scoped US market intelligence with browser OAuth or a bearer API key, Winningtemp for employee survey insights and people analytics, and Law Insider to search contracts, clauses, and definitions and retrieve original documents.
How to access: Admins can configure these from the MCP server directory in the Admin console.
Service credentials for agents are generally available
Service credentials for agents are now generally available, including service-credential MCP servers for Atlassian, Coda, Datadog, incident.io, Intercom, Linear, and Zendesk. Agents can access these tools through a shared service account instead of relying on each user's individual authorization.
How to access: Admins create service credentials from the Admin console.
AI & model updates
Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 3.8 Flash with custom providers
Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 3.8 Flash can now be selected with a customer-configured custom provider.
How to access: Available to customers who bring their own model keys. Admins manage model availability in the Admin console.
Independent agents can generate images
Independent agents can now generate images without requiring users to add a separate image-generation action. Standard chat keeps its existing image-generation behavior.
How to access: No action needed where image generation is enabled.
Critical updates
Client API sign-ins must match your company email domains
Client API requests authenticated with an OAuth access token from your identity provider are now rejected unless the user's email domain is one of your configured company email domains, matching Glean's other sign-in methods. Integrations that rely on identities outside those domains will start receiving authentication errors.
How to access: No action needed. The check applies automatically.
Turning off Memory also excludes older saved memories
Turning off Memory in Glean Assistant settings now also stops older saved memories and profile information from being used in chat responses.
How to access: No action needed. Applies when Memory is turned off.
Stricter SQL validation for warehouse queries
Warehouse SQL validation now rejects additional keywords for data changes, schema changes, permission changes, data movement, and indirect execution when the existing validation guard is active.
How to access: No action needed. Applies on deployments with the validation guard turned on.
Agent administrators keep access across departments
Fixed an issue where global agent administrators who also held a departmental agent moderator role could incorrectly lose permission to edit or run agents outside their department. Departmental-only restrictions are unchanged.
How to access: No action needed.
Deprecations & sunsets
Bitbucket Cloud connector no longer indexes issues
The Bitbucket Cloud connector no longer indexes repository issues or issue comments. Admins no longer need to grant the read:issue:bitbucket scope on the API token used for indexing; existing tokens that include it keep working.

Bulk employee indexing API removal moved to April 15, 2027
The removal date for POST /api/index/v1/bulkindexemployees has been extended from January 15, 2027 to April 15, 2027.
How to access: No action needed. Plan migrations before April 15, 2027.

Fixes
Meeting summaries from the homepage calendar
The Summarize button on past meetings in the homepage calendar now opens Glean Assistant with the meeting transcript, giving a summary with decisions and action items and letting you ask follow-up questions.
Clear notice when Glean can't connect
When Glean can't load because the network or VPN is unavailable, it now shows a notice with a Reload button instead of a blank screen.
Microsoft Teams thread replies included in search
Fixed an issue where replies in Microsoft Teams channel threads could be missing from search results.
Complete NetSuite crawls on high-volume days
NetSuite now crawls every transaction line item and journal entry on high-volume days instead of stopping after the first 100,000 rows in a date range, and indexes each journal entry once with consistent subsidiary, department, location, and class values.
Insights follows identity changes
Insights now credits activity recorded under a user's previous ID to their current account after a primary identity change, once Insights data is backfilled.
