TOOLS_NOT_ENABLED
Issue
The tool isn't turned on for you where you tried to use it. Either the tool is disabled for that surface (for example, it's enabled for agents but not for Assistant), or its access settings don't include you.
Resolution
Only an admin can change this. If you're an end user, ask your admin to enable the tool for you, and include the tool name and where you tried to use it.
If you're an admin:
- Go to Admin console → Platform → Tools and open the tool.
- On the Configuration tab, select Edit settings under Enable tools, and check that the tool is enabled for the surface the person used: Assistant, Agents, or Glean MCP Server. See Enabling or disabling individual tools.
- Under Make available to, check that the person, their department, or one of their groups is included. See Manage tool access.
- Save, then ask the person to try again.
