TOOLS_OAUTH_SESSION_EXPIRED

Issue

Glean couldn't match the app's sign-in response to the connection attempt that started it, so it couldn't finish connecting. This happens when:

  • The sign-in window stayed open too long, and the attempt expired.
  • You finished signing in from a different browser, browser profile, or private window than the one where you selected Connect. This can happen when a desktop app opens sign-in in your default browser.
  • The sign-in window was reloaded, or opened from an old link or bookmark, so the attempt was already used.
  • You're signed in to Glean as a different user in the window where you finished.
  • The browser blocked Glean's cookies for the sign-in window.

Resolution

  1. Close the sign-in window.
  2. In Glean, select Connect again and finish signing in right away, in the same browser where you're signed in to Glean.
  3. If the error repeats, allow cookies for your Glean site in the browser, or try a different browser.

If many people see this error, ask your admin to check whether a proxy or browser policy strips cookies or query parameters from the sign-in redirect.
