TOOLS_SNOWFLAKE_DEFAULTS_MISSING

Issue

Snowflake couldn't run the query because the session had no warehouse or no database to use. The Snowflake user or role that runs the query has no default warehouse or default database, and the query didn't name one.

Resolution

Ask your Snowflake admin to set defaults for the user that runs the query. When people connect with their own Snowflake accounts, that is each person's user.

  1. Set a default warehouse and default database for the user. For example:

    ALTER USER <user_name> SET DEFAULT_WAREHOUSE = <warehouse_name>;
    ALTER USER <user_name> SET DEFAULT_NAMESPACE = '<database_name>.<schema_name>';
  2. Make sure the user's default role has USAGE on that warehouse, database, and schema.

  3. Run your request again. If you connected before the change, reconnect so that a new session picks up the defaults.
