Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts let you open Glean from the browser extension sidebar or from quick entry in the desktop app.

Prerequisites

Install the Glean browser extension to use sidebar shortcuts on web pages. Install Glean for Desktop to use quick entry shortcuts.

How to change the sidebar shortcut

If another shortcut is already assigned to Command or Alt + J, or the Glean sidebar shortcut stops working (for example, after a Chrome update or because another extension took the shortcut), you can reset or change it:

1. Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
2. Edit Activate the extension under the Glean app.
3. Add the shortcut — Cmd+J on macOS or Alt+J on Windows (if already added, edit it and enter it again). You can also set a different shortcut or turn it off entirely here.
4. Refresh the page and try.
