Glean Extension via Company Push
Your company may install the Glean browser extension for you. When that happens, Glean can open as your homepage when you create a new browser tab. This page explains why that happens and how to change it.
Why Glean opens in new browser tabs
Your organization force-installed the Glean extension after reviewing security and usefulness for your workplace. Force-installing can also make Glean the page that appears when you open a new tab.
To learn more about Glean, see What is Glean?.
Restore your previous homepage
After you sign in to Glean, go to Settings and under Preferences toggle off Use Glean as new tab page.
Restore a blank browser tab
Use Home page settings as described earlier to stop Glean from opening on new tabs.
Restore another homepage extension
If you preferred a previous homepage extension (for example, Momentum, Scratchpad, or Earth View), uninstall that extension, then reinstall it. The previous homepage experience should return.
Other ways to open Glean
Even after you change the homepage setting, you can still use Glean in these ways:
- Type
gl, then Space or Tab, then your query in the browser address bar - Press Command + J (Mac) or Alt + J (Windows) to open the extension sidebar
- Go to app.glean.com
