User feedback
You can provide feedback on Glean responses with the buttons at the bottom of the chat window. Click Helpful to upvote a response, or Not helpful to downvote it. The Helpful and Not helpful labels show as tooltips when you hover over each button. After you click a button, a feedback modal opens where you can add detail before sending.
Glean uses this feedback for review and troubleshooting to help teams understand response utility and identify recurring issues. Feedback does not directly retrain Glean responses automatically.
Prerequisites
Make any request in Glean chat or search, and you can give feedback about the helpfulness of Glean's response.
What you can submit
When you mark a response as helpful or not helpful, you can submit:
- A thumbs up or thumbs down rating
- One or more structured reasons, when available
- Optional free-text comments
- Related chat context needed to review the feedback
Understand who sees your feedback
When you submit feedback on an agent response, Glean may share the feedback and the relevant chat context with your workspace admins, the builder of that agent, and Glean, to assist with troubleshooting and quality improvement.
For agent chats, the feedback modal includes a disclosure:
Your chat and feedback may be shared with Glean, your admins, and this agent's builder to help improve your experience. Fact-check important information because AI can make mistakes.
Because chat context can be included, avoid submitting sensitive information in feedback unless it is necessary for troubleshooting.
This sharing applies to agent feedback. Feedback on standard chat and search follows the routing your administrators configure.
Write feedback that gets acted on
A clear comment is easier for your admins to act on than a rating alone. When you downvote:
- Say what you expected the response to do differently
- Note whether the problem was a wrong answer, a missing source, or an unclear question
- Mention the document or source if you know the response used the wrong one
