Okta (OIDC)
With Glean’s MCP server enabled, you can access Glean chat, search, and agents from an MCP client such as Claude Desktop and Cursor. This article will walk you through enabling Glean’s MCP server when Okta is your SSO provider.
- Configure a new app integration.
- Be sure to select “OIDC” as Sign-in method and “Native application” as Application Type, “Device Authorization” as Grant type and copy the Client ID.
- Choose “Device Authorization” in Core Grants.
- Configure an authorization server. You must use the same authorization server that Glean is configured to use.
- Add a rule to your access policy. Create a policy first if none exists.
- Make sure to select “Device Authorization” as Grant Type.
- Have your Glean account team configure the new Okta app integration in Glean. Provide the Client ID copied in step 2 and ask for Developer Platform to complete your Okta configuration.
