The Glean calendar search action allows you to search and retrieve events from supported calendars and perform tasks based on scheduled events. This action currently supports:
  • Google calendar
  • Microsoft Outlook calendar
The actual tasks you can perform with the calendar search action vary based on the calendar you’re using. For information on supported tasks, refer to the Calendar Search Actions Setup article of the Admin documentation.

Google Calendar

The Glean calendar search action allows you to search and retrieve events from supported calendars and perform tasks based on scheduled events. This action currently supports Google calendar.

Usage Examples

Once you’ve setup Google Calendar connector, you will be able to perform:
  • Use Meeting Summarization from Calendar on Glean Home page: Summarize meetings to understand key decisions and action items & generate action Items
  • Find meetings in Search: Search for google calendar events and transcripts within Glean Search
  • Retrieve calendar events using Agent builder
  • Note: Interacting with meetings in Glean Chat is currently unsupported

Configuration

Prerequisites

  • Before you can use the calendar search action with agents, data crawling and indexing must be set up for Google Calendar connectors.
Enable calendar search in an agent:
  1. Select Chat from the left-hand navigation.
  2. Select Agents.
  3. Create an agent.
  4. Select the step of an agent.
  5. Search for or select the Calendar Search action.
  6. Provide a natural language input (e.g., “Search for my next meeting with John”) or a search operator input (e.g., after:now before:2025-04-29).

Outlook Calendar

The Outlook calendar search action allows you to search and retrieve events from supported calendars and perform tasks based on scheduled events. This action currently supports Outlook calendar through a Microsoft metered API.

Usage Examples

Once you’ve setup Teams transcript connector, you will be able to perform:
  • Use Meeting Summarization from Calendar on Glean Home page: Summarize meetings to understand key decisions and action items & generate action Items. Limitation: Ability to ask a follow-up query through summarization modal is currently unsupported.
  • Find meetings in Search: Search for Outlook calendar events and transcripts within Glean Search. To search Outlook calendar event, we can only pull events through Ms Teams using an operator query such as app:msteams
  • Limitation: Due to limitations on fetching teams transcript URL natively, these events will not have attached transcripts
  • Retrieve calendar events using Agent builder. Limitation: Due to limitations on fetching teams transcript URL natively, these events will not have attached transcripts.
