Glean offers two primary ways to create an Agent. You can use the Agent Builder to start from scratch, or you can use a new conversational flow that guides you through the entire creation process with the help of the Assistant.
  • This new flow is designed to lower the barrier to agent creation, allowing anyone, regardless of technical fluency, to build precise and powerful agents using natural language.
  • It offers an interactive and iterative creation process, which addresses the limitations of starting from a blank builder or using a single text prompt.
  • The design is highly intuitive. A side-by-side view allows you to refine your agent in real time and instantly see your changes, making it easy to build exactly the agent you need.

Build an Agent using Assistant

The new conversational flow guides you through creating an agent with a side-by-side view, featuring an interactive chat on the left and a real-time agent builder on the right.
  1. Start the builder: In Glean, navigate to Agents. Then click Create agent and select Create an agent with Assistant.
  2. Describe your Agent: In the chat pane on the left, describe the agent you want to create and its desired outcome using natural language. The system will process your request and draft the initial version of your agent on the right.
  3. Refine and edit: To refine the agent’s structure and behavior, provide conversational follow-up prompts on the left pane. For example, you can ask the Assistant to add a “Prerequisites” section or request specific formatting. The agent configuration will update in real time.
  4. Test and publish: Once you’re satisfied with the agent’s configuration, click Run agent on the right side of the screen to test its behavior.
When you are ready, click Publish to make the agent available to your team.
